Summer Decor Inspiration

If you've ever snooped around on Peaches & Pearls, it's no secret that decorating for seasons & holidays happens to be one of my favorite things to do.

I don't claim to be an expert, or have talent in the area, or desire to be an influencer or whatever else social media has made someone sharing their ideas out to be.  I just like to share this passion!

It's my happy place.
The place where I go back to my childhood, close my eyes, & try to recreate all the things that make a season what I learned it be way back when the lens from which I viewed the world was always more magical, lighthearted, & carefree.

When I think of summer I think of long days, warm+light pigments, big bowls of fruit, American flags, cold sweet treats, & anything to do with the ocean or water because I typically spend my entire summer months wishing the days away until my feet hit the sugar white sands in Panama City.

I always want to recreate that feeling when you walk into our home during the summer months.  I want my kids to feel & take in all the excitement of each season just by eating at the dinner table or sitting in the living room for a family movie night (which we love to keep seasonal, too!)🤗
A few summer favorites are...
Heavy Weights
Man of the House
*The Sandlot
Hook
The Parent Trap
*Wild America
Soul Surfer
Blank Check
*Three Ninjas
Born to Be Wild
**(be careful with some of these with your littles, I found out the hard way-earmuffs, blindfolds!)
Can't tell we're 90's kids, can you?
Our ice cream jar...that we've never got to use this year.
The ice cream truck only graced our presence once this spring.
All I can say is he's missing some good business!
The hubs has yet to hang this mirror.
He likes to procrastinate (or hire out/cheapskate work😂)
All the tangerine + orange essential oils!
Summer memories❤️
My fav spot in the house now!  Our booth!  We still need a lighting fixture, chairs, & a cushion for the bench but I think it is coming together nicely.  All in time!
My budget for shelf decorations was mainly dedicated to the actually booth project this year...but I did score some finds at the Target clearance aisle & can't WAIT for Fall & Christmas!
The boys are already excited for Spider to see it (our Elf on the Shelf!)😉
Summer-it's been real & it's been fun-but I can't wait for all the
pumpkins coming soon!

Summer Tunnel Vision

Ahhhh.  Did you hear that?  That's a sigh of relief, people!

Why have I been MIA?  Well...

But now I can officially say that all summer obligations are COMPLETE...
sweating it out in closets & libraries + working late on Fridays are OVER🙌🏻
As of today, I am an official part time, two day a week employee!
With a side of being a teletherapist the other two days a week😬
Still know I am going to be busy, but it can't be as crazy as the past year!

Right now, with a week off in the forecast- it feels SO good!
And I'm just going to bask in that moment.
We are celebrating with our (what seems like) annual end of the year beach trip.
If anyone needs a vacation, it is Cade.  He has basically worked Monday-Saturday everyday this summer in this humid southern heat, dealing with so much craziness.
We are ALL ready.

The last hoorah of the summer.
I love looking forward to it all spring/summer long & after all the summer fun we can cram into one week, we deal with "the end" by ushering in Christmas music on the way home, dreaming of fall decorations, & planning all the fall & Christmas things.
One of my favorites is a Christmas photo challenge:)

Plus+++, OUR BABY GIRL IS COMING IN OCTOBER!

I'll stop.

At the beginning of summer, Cam made a bucket list.  I'd like to think we have almost crossed everything off that list, besides the waterpark.  I always say we will get season passes to that & the zoo & somehow we always forget how great that would be.
Did everything go perfectly?  Not a chance.
The Fourth is always my favorite part of summer.  I look forward to it *almost* as much as Halloween.  There's just something about bomb pops, watching fireworks, & floating the day away on the lake (well-most years, ours was a little different this year-we traded our car🤪) that allow us to pause a second & soak summer all up.
My favorite new experience this year was watching fireworks with our neighbors in our neighborhood.  Cade & I had to work up until the very last minute, so we were home for the first time during the fourth.  Talk about a porch display!  The boys loved it-Tepper, however, not so much-homegirl not a fan of fireworks.
I love a good holiday brunch!
The next day, we headed to the no cell signal & the mountains for fun with family❤️

Our food truck park experience was good atmosphere, the smell of delicious food (but miserably hot, crowded, & the lines did NOT move).
The ice cream truck has yet to come through our neighborhood.
Even though this jar...
is stocked with cash so we will never have a popsicle ripped out of our hands ever again.  We improvise & go downtown.  Who needs the stinky ole ice cream truck, right??
But, man-Bible school was so much fun!  Every night, they chattered all the way home about what they had learned & how much they loved every night at "Giddy Up Junction"❤️
Cam has had a pretty rough summer.  To keep it lighthearted, I kinda joke & say he's six going on ninety.  We've been to almost every pediatric specialist in East Tennessee, lately.  We've had a mole removed (that turned out not to be cancerous-but we still have to go back because there was something in it that wasn't normal AND he has had to stay out of the water with all of this bacteria scare going on).  A tooth pulled, something else going on that seems like he is having trouble seeing (currently, his pediatrician thinks it may be a childhood tic, but-since it is not the typical "blinking tic" (he tilts his head & widens his eyes) we are being referred to an ophthalmologist for further evaluation-to rule out the need for an EEG).
He has been such a trooper through it all!  On top of starting his first year of football- flag football😉

Stages of Conley at football practice
belly shelfing it

Conley on the other hand has busy trying to kill our dog, Tepper.  He loves to jump on every piece of furniture (our couch has a hole in it) & refuses to clean up without BIG demands ("I'm too scared!").  He is a challenging 3 year old to say the least, but gosh he can also be so sweet.
It really is time to do a post about them-they are so fun right now besides allllll the fighting.
I could live a good life without that!

Now, off to clean the house, pack up, & go to Cam's first football game before heading out early in the morning!
Many summer wishes, sweet friends🍊

27 Weeks || Baby A #3

Last week of second trimester...
this is flying by!
How far along? 27 weeks + 1 day
Total weight gain: 18 lbs
Maternity clothes? Just ordered a couple colors in these from amazon and these maternity leggings.  Basically wore them everyday this week.  Easy to change up & soooo comfy!
Sleep: We finally have a bed off of the floor (3 years & counting-ours broke when we moved to TN), so getting up to pee is SO much easier & I have definitely slept better the past week.
Best moment this week: Just seeing all our nesting projects come together.  It's so rewarding & a blessing to know we have a cozy home/big enough car (we traded for a burb) to house our family in.
Miss Anything? Not feeling like a whale.  It's not something I ever remember after I have our babies.  I forget how yuck I feel the whole time-& then see cute pregnant women or remember those days of feeling a sweet baby kick + all the excitement + anticipation & miss it!  Trying not to feel that way.  The struggle is real!  Lol😜
Cravings: Food that doesn't make me feel bad.  I'm at the point when I can't eat much without feeling full!
Gender:  Girl 🎀
Looking forward to: THE BEACH!  One more week!  Found the cutest/comfiest maternity swim suits at Pat Pat if you're in the market.  Here and here!  Just order waaaayyyy in advance...it took about a month to receive.  These were the cheapest I have found.
Dreaming of her nursery!  Altered State, West Town
