Weekend Tales: The Mr. Returns

Happy Tuesday, everyone...the silence has been broken!  I had a much needed week away from all things technology.  I can't really describe to you just how insanely busy October has been!  I get tired just thinking about it.  It's times like these, where I come to realize how blessed I am to have a body that allows me to tackle everything.  Thank you, Lord!

Now.  Let's catch up.  I kinda feel like a year has went by since I posted last...
I have to start with this past weekend.  After leaving the Mr. with a tearful goodbye about two months ago, we finally got to take a trip to the airport in our p.j's, and have him waltz back into our lives for the week.  Our Pet Smart, Target, and Starbucks date, made for a wild and crazy late night before heading to the airport.  Cam cried, "Dawwwwg!  Dawwwwg!" as I drug him out of Pet Smart, snacked on chick-fil-a treats in the Target shopping cart (as he insisted on testing out the performance of every ball, microphone, book, and car in sight).  He also practiced his sharing skills with a vanilla milk at Starbucks with Snoop.  We ended the night with a real life hug from daddy, and I don't think Cam, Cade, or I can be happier since being together again.  A lot of people have wondered if Cam forgot Dada after two months of absence.  Heck no!  They picked up right where they left off:)  Sooooo much to catch up on!

Of course, since he came home, we had to have lots of plans and celebrations.  Saturday was a fat day with a delicious Southern full course breakfast.  Then, it was only logical to throw on some orange and waddle on over to the Neyland Stadium in Knoxville and watch U.T. get creamed by Alabama.  Now that was an experience!   By the end of the game, Cam was coughing every breath, I began sneezing, and I had heard Cade's fashion critique commentary regarding white girls dressing like Hans Solo one too many times.  I just happened to be wearing my own version via leggings and boots.  I may rethink this look twice.  P.S. Anybody else feel like it's near impossible to get a good picture of the ever so swift toddler???  Geez Louise!

Sunday morning, Cam was full blown sick:(  We spent his sick day laying on the couch in a bunch of blankets watching The Great Pumpkin in the glow of the flickering pumpkin candles.  That would make anyone feel better, right?  After everyone came home from church, we whipped up some chicken noodle soup and watched The Ghost of Mr. Chicken.  If you haven't ever seen it, you are missing out!  A perfect, clean, fun, family, Halloween movie to get together and watch:)  You must throw a few sweets in the mix too, of course!

And we totally began celebrating Christmas as soon as our flick came to an end.  But more on that later:)  I hope everyone is having a fun and festive Halloween week!

As we are slowly slipping into some cooler weather, I can't help but get excited about pulling out my sweaters, boots, and scarves and putting them to work for good!  After all, it is my favorite season to shop for.  We have seen temps in the low 40's a few days in the past couple of weeks, and there is just something about the chill in the air that makes life so perfect and cozy this time of year!

Haunt the Shelves with Books of Scary: Mwa ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha.

To me, holidays are the perfect time to curl up with a storybook and your little ones.  I think reading together is such a fun bonding experience, and when it is about holidays in particular, that gets everyone in the spirit of the upcoming season.  I am blessed, that little can please Cam more than a storybook!  I guess he really never stood a chance in the first place...

We have crammed all of our favorite Halloween and Fall storybooks onto the shelves around his reading nook (and living room ottoman) for easy access after bath time.

Some of our favorite Halloween reads...(plus, they make super cute decorations too!)
  1. Skeleton Hiccups
  2. The Night Before Halloween
  3. It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
  4. Whoo's there Oon Halloween?
  5. Ten Timid Ghosts
  6. Where the Wild Things Are
  7. Fall
  8. My Friend the Monster
  9. Room on the Broom
  10. Love Monster

I also have my eye on adding Mostly Monsterly and Baby Lit's Frankenstein and Dracula to our collection this year.  Who needs candy, right?;)  <side note> Maybe it's because I've read Skeleton Hiccups 10,562 times, or maybe I am just 99.9% Buddy the Elf...but I am looking sooooo forward to the Christmas ones that will be sneaking onto the shelf within the next month!  Yes, next month!

Happy Hump Day and not so spooky reading:)

Weekend Tales: Fall Adventures

You could say I'm feeling a little exhausted on this Monday...so I'm just going to let the pictures tell the story for the most part:)  I did, however, pull a crazy person weekend and squeezed in the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, Halloween pictures, bonfire with cider and smores, and Dollywood!   I repeat, crazy person!

I am pretty sure I could write a children's book about our Pumpkin Patch adventure entitled "Cam and the Apple at the Pumpkin Patch."  The sweet man who drove us on the hayride, gave Cam a fresh apple from the little market place beside the patch.  You would have thought the man gave him the Hope Diamond!  His eyes lit up and he went to town chowing down on the apple as he bounced toward the hayride.  He munched on it the entire hayride til' we reached the endless rows of orange.  We hopped off the hayride and trudged through the slightly muddy dirt, toward the largest two pumpkins we could find.  On our way, Cam got a little too quick for his step (as usual) and fell to the ground as his precious apple rolled away.  "Bapple, bapple!"  The sweet man heard Cam's message of distress and seen his little apple tumbling through the dirt and promised him another when we returned to the little market.  As promised, he slipped Cam another shiny red apple fresh from the farm.  And you bet your bottom dollar, he held on for dear life this time!  I think he even got into character of his Halloween costume and whispered, "I'll eat you up, I love you so."  And that he did. <3

Yep, Fall is in full swing!

Congratulations to Morgan Baker, the winner of a beautiful felt garland from Brittany over at "The Fickled Felt Tree!"  Please share a picture with us as soon as you find it the perfect place in your home.  I just know you are going to love it for many seasons to come!

And now, again, I am so excited and blessed, to share my next fall giveaway collaboration with you!  A big friendly welcome to Bobo and Coco!  This sweet Etsy shop is my absolute favorite place for holiday tees.  They also have a variety of darling children clothing and accessories...check them out!  Can I do you something better?  They have mustaches on almost ALL of their holiday creatures.  Now in my book, that alone makes them perfect and completely adorable!  I mean, check the Camster out!  I can almost assure you that these dance moves and smile will be included;)
Vanessa, the owner of Bobo and Cocostarted sewing in 2007, after her sister found out she was expecting her third child. The sisters had been partners in a children's clothing boutique where her sister designed and sewed children's clothes, while she took care of the customer service end of the business.
While her sister was out of commission during her pregnancy and after the baby was born, Vanessa still wanted to continue. Vanessa's sister encouraged her learn how to sew, and with her gentle nudging, she did just that, and never looked back.  Vanessa says, "I love the process of creating something from nothing, turning a piece of fabric into a little dress, some pillows or a kitchen towel, sky's the limit!"
Her 3 children, Bobo (Sabrina), Coco (Chloe) and Jonathan, are her inspiration.
She says "seeing the world through their eyes, helps me keep perspective and continues to inspire me every day.  Little clothes are happy...they just are! I hope you love them as much as I do."
I couldn't agree more Vanessa!  Thank you for creating such adorable, unique clothes for our babies:)
And for the opportunity for the readers of Peaches and Pearls to win a $40 credit to her shop on Etsy!  All you have to do is share your favorite mustache joke for 2 points, or join Peaches and Pearls for 5 points--and Bobo and Coco's happy little clothes could be yours as soon as next week!

Daddy Countdown+B00-bble Baths

Why don’t mummies take bubble baths?  They’re afraid they’ll relax and unwind!  Okay, sorry...that was terrible.  But really.  Thank GOODNESS we're not made of toliet paper wraps and have to worry about that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again- there are few problems a bubble bath can't solve!  And that includes 15 days and counting until the Mr. flies back into our lives.  We miss him so much.  It's been two months since we seen him last.  Props to the military families out there...I don't know how they do it for years at a time!  We are so excited and can't wait.  October 24th cant come soon enough! Until then, we will be B00-ble bathing our evenings away.
*Sorry in advance for all the pictures

All you need is a trip to the Dollar Store to snatch up a couple of Halloween rubber duckies, glow sticks, and holiday clings.  And what's a Halloween-y B00-bble bath without festive music to set the mood?  These are just a few of our favorites to soak up the suds with:
1.  Grim Grinning Ghosts (The Haunted Mansion)
2.  Lil' Red Riding Hood (Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs)
3.  Love Potion #9 (The Searchers)
4.   The Mad Scientist (Los Straitjackets)
5.  Thriller (Micheal Jackson)
6.  Monster Mash (Bobby "Boris" Pickett)
7.  Haunted House (Cris Kevin)
8.  Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)
9.  This is Halloween (Tim Burton)
10.  Ghostbusters - (Ray Parker, Jr.)
