It's Not Impossible

Ever feel overwhelmed?
I often do.
Impossible has become a frequent word in my vocabulary,
especially since becoming a new mommy and starting my job.
I want so badly to be perfect at everything.
Maintaining a clean and neat home.  Stylish.  Organized.  Rested.  Fun & Tireless Wife & Mommy.  Servant of Christ.  Present & involved friend...daughter...and sister.
And well...just. plain. Cassidy.
I have a bit of OCD about doing everything as I imagine it should be.
It can definitely feel quite impossible to balance so many roles
and still find time to be me!

Most of the time I am lucky to make it to 9pm where I stumble through the day doing what I feel is required of me and crash into another day of sweet madness.
Sweet...because I'm so very blessed to be alive with beautiful things in my life.
Madness because we all face it in some form or fashion as we fight to survive in this world!

I want to be the best mom in the world.
I never want to miss a minute or opportunity to provide
Cam with the best childhood imaginable.
Childhood should be so magical.
And most of that magic is created by the parents.
Such a HUGE responsiblity!
I want to be successful in my career.

I want to live a life that reflects Christ and serve him daily.
I want to be there for my friends & family.
To brighten their day.
To listen.
To care.
As I have been battling the feeling of failure,
I ran across this little list in my Bible last night...
Handy Little Chart: God has an answer for everything

First on the list?
When you say "it is impossible..."
Wow.  Chills.
And he said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
(IN RED LETTERS-aka JESUS SAID THAT)
Luke 18:27
I don't know about you, but that encouraged me.
This little list is going to be tucked away somewhere accessible!
So I am going to keep on fighting feelings of impossible and failure
because God is bigger.  Right?:)

December Favorites

Christmas music is floating through the air.
Trees are glittering from every window.
The stockings are hung by the chimney with care!
And I am a UPS delivery away from having our house decked out for my favorite time of year;)

In spirit of my favorite season...
I wanted to share a couple of things I have found to
make our season a little more bright and festive:)

Baby's First Christmas

What to get a baby for his first Christmas?
Cam will be 9 months old by the time Christmas rolls around, and
while he is mobile, and ooo and ahhh's at the twinkle lights, he isn't exactly
the age in which he understands what is going on.
I am pretty sure he is going to be more mesmerized by the ripping of
wrapping paper than any new toy he might recieve.
Let's be real...I could give him a container of prunes and he would give me his gummy grin and exchange a slobbery chin bite kiss in return!
But I still want to make his day special.
And I still want to be Santa!
SO.  Here are a few things I have on Cam's Very 1st Christmas List:

And we can't forget stocking stuffers!
with a few special treats (i.e. yogurt melts and puffs;)

I'm curious...what did/are you doing for your baby's First Christmas?
