June With Jillian

I have been SO incredibly sore this week that I have barely been able to walk... let me just say- I don't hate it!  Why do I tend to easily forget how much better I feel when I take a little time to squeeze in some exercise.  I think I have pretty much used the excuse, "I don't have time," for over a year now and let's just face it.  That baby kangaroo-ish pouch on my stomach isn't going to disappear or tone itself up on it's own.  It takes some will power and effort.

Since forcing myself to start that first video...I have experienced better sleep, more energy, and have a sense of personal accomplishment at the end of the day.  Even better?  That little pooch in my stomach is toning up just after joining Jillian for a minimum of three workouts.

When I first started doing Jillian videos, about five years ago...I thought you have got to be kidding me.  Who can suffer through this torture!?  Nonetheless, I stuck with her.  I guess it had something to do with the challenge and how good I felt after I completed one of her workouts.  Or maybe I loved tuning into the mental part of the workout where your mind tells you to quit, but you fight that negativity and push through to the end because you know you can.  You realize you are strong enough.  So empowering... not just after a workout, but in life as well!  I can honestly say, I was in the best shape of my life when I regularly did her workouts before I became pregnant with Cam.  So here's to summer!  I'm ready to do this;)

I tried to start the "June with Jillian" challenge last year, but with a newborn...who had day and night confusion resulting in minimal sleep for this mommy-it was just absolutely unrealistic.  These days- we have somewhat of a schedule going and I am able (yes, no longer making excuses) to squeeze in a workout during evening nap time or just after he goes to sleep.  And for those days when neither are viable?  We will just go for a run:)  Mommy =  flexibility.

So far, I have exercised with Jillian 4 of the 5 days of June.  I'm not going to challenge myself with something unrealistic...and hey, if I don't meet the goal then the world's not going to come falling down.  My goal is to workout at least 5 times a week throughout the month of June.  I'm ready to get the old Cassidy back.  I'm ready for a little me time;)  If any of you would like to join...I'd love some company;)
Is it safe to say Happy Friday???

Target Tuesday: Summer Edition

It's time for another Target Tuesday!  Over the weekend, I had a chance to run by a Target and browse  for some more adorable and affordable finds:)  Target is in full swing summer mode, and in my opinion they did not disappoint!  Our home is now decked out in seasonal summer finds thanks to the adorable baby products and home goods...the question is: when is enough, enough??

My Mr. was pretty proud of me (or maybe he was just being nice) for weeding the excess out of our cart as I browsed through the store.  I may or may not have put everything summery in the cart as I browsed.  Just call me Miss Practicality.  Being practical isn't fun sometimes, but such is this life!
I remember a lady in our church telling us to look back at the dessert table during one of our recent church dinners.  She said, "you see all that dessert...it will be 0 calories in heaven!"  I'd like to add a Target spin to this..."You see all of those holiday decorations at Target, they are 0 dollars and are all yours to decorate with Cassidy!"  I'm sure Target will be put on the backburner up there...:)

{Tray}  {Cars} {Bowls} {Collar, store only}  {Popsicle Mold, store only
{Summer Dining Set, store only}

The cars...they were a surprise for Camster:)  He has really been into cars lately, and not only do these cars travel, I snagged all four for 14 bucks!  They are perfect for toddlers.  A bow tie collar on clearance for Mr. Fitz.  That chic tray in white for our summer table center piece.  Adorable animal popsicle molds (recipe to come soon;).  And the pineapple sippy, summer plate, and shark snack pack...shut the front door!  I also snagged one of those cute printed bowls for $3.
Target Shopping Trip success!

Here is a little peek at summer decorating in the Adams Household:)
I also found these napkins and the cotton candy candle at Target as well:)

And how cute is this lemonade stand display???

Hope you all are having a great week so far!
Happy Target Tuesday;)

Weekend Tales

"No experience is ever wasted.  Everything has meaning." -Oprah Winfrey

I'm not an Oprah kinda girl, but I did glance down at this coffee sleeve on my Starbucks cup this weekend and loved this message.  Every now and then, it's nice to unexpectedly be reminded of our focus in life and evaluate whether or not we are truly living as God would have us to live...
Soaking in every moment of life.
Here lately, I have really truly been trying to do that.  But we will just save the rest of this message for another day;)  Onto my mommy ramblings...

As a mom, some weekends are surreal in that you turn around and you wonder where your baby has gone.  Okay, okay, I guess that's an everyday thing...but this weekend definitely classifies as one of those weekends.  Pretty sure I have a one year old going on at least eighteen here.

I really don't know where my baby went this weekend.  We went to the pool for the first time this summer, and took a gamble with the "Puddle Jumper" (as he loathed the life jacket!) and wa-lah...  After an attempt to hit the road Jack, (he was heading for the highway, y'all!) he fell in love with his cold first summer swim.  Brrrrr Rabbit!

See the blue lips?

We're talking this cutie straight up jumped off the sides, walked off the diving board, and practically continuously begged to go back in though he was as blue as a popsicle and shivering all over!  I love this little ham.

On a completely random side note...we have GOT to work on this baby's table manners!  He was a filthy animal when we went out to grab a bite to eat after the pool.  Turning over drinks.  Grabbing rice and shoveling it in his mouth by the fist wads.  Chucking lemons across the restaurant and gracing us with his caveman call.  AHHHHHHH!  Any advice?  I'm guessing a smack on the hand and firm no (well, a Cassidy "no"-aka chipmunk tone) is not going to be the answer.  This could get ugly...

Happy Four Days Til' It's Friday Again!:)
