Patiently Waiting...

OK maybe we're NOT so patient.
Signs of the impending fall season are sneaking in
all around our little household...
Especially if you consider the fact that
I'm writing this post as I listen to my Halloween playlist & sip Hot Apple Cider...

HEY...
This is actually the time of year when we are A-okay with Daddy's tendency to keep our house FREEEZZZING!

We can just snuggle up and pretend like it actually IS Fall.
Little does he know HE ALSO adds to the festiveness because even the ESPN football reruns add to the mood!

Cam approves of our Fall inspired outfits for the day...

And I hate to sound an alarm
BUT
Before the Mr. knows it,
it IS most definitely going to look like "The Great Pumpkin" threw up all over the place...
Ohhhhh, I get chills just thinking about it!

As soon as my decorating partner gets back from the beach...
it's not just time to decorate.  It's time for our annual Fall Decorating PARTY!
That's right folks, we make a day of it!

Looks like a pumpkin exploded in his face...that's my boy:)

Complete with Halloween cookies, a viewing of "Hocus Pocus" & "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," while stringing leaves and lighting pumpkins all with another hot cup of apple cider in hand!
And this year...
I have a baby, baby room, AND some chalk art to get festive with too!
 I.  CAN'T.  WAIT.

My friend Samantha knows me & my holiday obsession so well that she bought Cam this Halloween costume in February!
You are the bomb.com Samanth!

I'm currently browsing etsy, Target, and Pottery Barn for the perfect fall-ish goods to add a little holiday cheer to this time of year!;)

Did I even mention the fun in shopping for Halloween costumes for the Camster??
Poor kid doesn't stand a chance!

Who ELSE is this ready for Fall???

Weekend Run Down

Ahhhhhh the weekend.
Our weekend was full of monsters, puppy love, fashion statements, naughty milestones, birthday fun, and beachy goodbyes.

Onesie, Gift

Thursday, we celebrated "BB's" birthday with an evening dinner at a yummy local diner.
Happy Birthday "BB"!

Onesie, TJMaxx

Friday, we said goodbye to Lolli, Pop, & Aunt C as they headed out to the beach...
Sad to note we shoulda been with them-but HEY:
guess Santa kinda needs to save $ or somethin' like that!
(That's the only righteous cause to refuse a beach trip I can come up with!)

Instead we headed out for a family night & grabbed BBQ & groceries.
The 1st time we have actually got to go grocery shopping since our wedding shower without COMPLETELY being broke afterward!  FAMILY MILESTONE ALERT!
Cue the hallelujah chorus!!!

Cam has fINaLLy arrived at the age where I can influence him to do certain things...
OH like develop a love for Snoopy (aka Uh-Oh as I called him)
or any other kind of puppy...
AND also sneak a blanket in there also just like Linus his daddy.

They reaaalllyyy shouldn't have the same toys...
it's confusing for Penn.

Do you remember back when I was in search for the perfect one?

Soon enough Cam might be begging me or his daddy
to check for monsters under his bed...
but for noooowwwww we are having fun with them!
Not to mention: HALLOWEEN is coming soon;)

It was too late to stop it...

Book, Amazon
So we dressed with monsters in spirit of our bedtime story!

Speaking of naughty creatures,
Cam has learned a naughty cutest thing you've ever seen trick from his Aunt C...

The notorious childhood profanity!  Haha...
Yea, hard not to encourage this cuteness!!!!

Hoping everyone had a great start to the week!

A New Void

I tend to blog a lot about happy stuff.
The kind of stuff that you want to think life is all about.
But there are those times...
we don't really wanna think about.
The times when life isn't so perfect...

Our little family lost a very special member last Thursday.
Zack was apart of our entire engagement, marriage, and first baby.
He was with us as we began this journey together.
He and Cade's dog Ickers, were inseparable.

Zack was more than just a dog.
He was my friend.  My companion.  My protector.

For years, as Cade worked away from home, he watched out for me.
He kept me safe.  He allowed me to develop a sense of security and independence in our new home.

It just doesn't seem the same around our home anymore.
I can no longer see him on our porch, trotting up to meet me as I pull into the driveway.
No more walks, jogs, or hikes with him there beside me.
I don't need to buy anymore ducks from Walmart to toss for his favorite game of fetch (he had about 20).
No more huge bags of dogfood, and elevated food dishes.
I don't get to yell "bye Zack!" as I roll down the driveway leaving for school/work.
No more spectating as he and Ickers chase all the geese out of the pond.
I won't hear his powerful bark clearing the neighborhood for any potential danger or (maybe even just a bark or two "just because").

I know to some it may sound silly...and countless times
I've heard people say "they are just dogs."  But not to me.
That's just who I am.
A void will remain in my heart without him.

Rest in Peace my sweet Zack.
I will miss you always.

Third & Fourth Months!

The 3rd & 4th Months with our precious baby boy...

A Few Of My Favorite Things:  Still dig bathtime,  love to chow down, can pass gas like a grown man, mini freak out fits in quiet places, my passy (and spitting it occasionally), walks in my stroller...I love watching little kids, looking in the mirror and looking at bright lights and fans.
Not so favorite...when no one pays attention to me, when people forget to entertain  me, getting put in carseat, sleeping hasn't been a priority of mine the past couple of nights...

Milestones: 1st bible school, 1st roadtrip, 1st birthday party, 1st cold, 1st laugh, 1st boat ride,   1st 4th of July, 1st week without spending it with mommy, lost my first pet:;(, tried first semi-solid food: rice, 1st trip to Georgia,
playing with toys for the 1st time
My face: I have learned to stick my lip out and make a pouty face...insert mommy comment:  It is the cutest thing you'll ever see!  I've been teething this whole time too...dump trucks of slobber!  I'm starting to get a little chunky too;)
My eyes: Huge Blue eyes with tons of eyelashes that don't miss a thing!
My hair:  Losing a little, still dark and looks like there is going to be some curl!

My hands:  Busy, Busy, Busy and love to pull mommy's hair out!  I also try to jam my whole fist i my mouth in an effort to soothe my gum's!
My feet:  I like to kick mommy in the stomach at night.  Why not??  I did it lots in her belly too!  It's mandatory that during my waking hours I am standing.
Music: Dancing in the Moonlight and Wagon Wheel...maybe because it say's heeeeeeyyyyy momma rock me?  Idk...

Best Part of Month(s):  The Nashville/Memphis Roadtrip

Worst Part of Month:  Losing our precious Zack and the cold!
My favorite products: stroller fan, light weight swaddle blankets, medela bottles, onesies, strap sunglasses, Sophie teething ring, any toys that light up, are easy to grip, or make noise
