Taking a trip to Florida for spring break was kind of a spur of the moment decision, but I'm so glad we were able to go! It's really true that sometimes... you just need to get away from everything, & take some time to rest & relax! I actually came home with more energy, and after the week I had this past week, I'm sure glad I did!
We headed to the Florida panhandle, knowing the week was forecasted to be nothing but thunderstorms and rain showers. But that didn't stop us:) And I'm so glad it didn't! It turned out to be such a nice week to be outside with a toddler! It was a little cloudy & overcast most days, but we got to go out every day but one! Cam was pretty partial to eating sand & belly flopping into the sand. He also had the most awesome beach hair, enjoyed slapping the fishing pole in the pool, & flirting with elderly women. Not to mention, sampling the ketchup every evening at dinner. I think we may have had a wilder week than the college kids hanging off the balcony:)
Let me just say, I think that Cam is going to love the water this summer! Before the end of the week, he was completely jumping into the water for someone to catch him & swimming with his puddle jumper all by himself! The stormy mornings we did have were spent trying to keep him away from the balcony where he could spot any water, because he would start begging, "Go to tha water! Go to the water!" Try explaining why you can't go play outside & play to a 2 year old!

10 Weeks
Baby updates are back in swing! It's kinda hard to believe I just said that. This time around, I think things will be different. I know what to expect during & after pregnancy. I can also verify that being a mother has been the most amazing, blessed experience of my life & that there isn't anything to be afraid of.
Something a little more instantly exciting? We find out what Baby A's gender is next Friday!! Yes, they can find out that early now! But more on that later. I can't lie. A girl would be a dream this time around, as I would love to have a daughter AND a son:) (& not to mention all of the girly things boy moms drool over). But, it's just as easy for me to imagine hunting up matching bow ties & fedoras as I add to our toy car collection for the next couple of years. Either way, I am just so excited & ready to know! This little planning momma is ready to get to work:)
This is Week #: 10 Weeks (I'll be 11 on Saturday!)

This is Week #: 10 Weeks (I'll be 11 on Saturday!)
Total Weight Gain: I haven't weighed lately, but last I checked maybe 1-2 lbs (I've been fluctuating & sometimes I lose 1-2 lbs within a day all depending on how I feel).
What I am wearing: My clothes. Everything still fits good, but I have never seen my belly more inconsistent with it's size in my life! One minute I look 40 weeks pregnant, and the next I look like I should in the first trimester...It's really kind of scared me tbh
Favorite accessory/piece of clothing: Button up shirts, loose enough to hide the baby bump that most would probably assume is a food bump. Dresses are equally as cool:)
Body woes: So. unbelievably. tired. It's worse this time around with a toddler. But much more fun & entertaining:) I laugh a lot & don't they say that's the best medicine?
Best part of week: Such a rejuvenating week at the beach, despite the cursed first trimester slum
Feel anything in there? Nope, nothing yet
Gives me the Creeps: The thought of coffee, though I am beginning to occasionally have my one morning cup a day. Seems as though random things gross me out. It changes daily.
I miss: My energy & night owl tendencies
Zzzzz Pattern: Not sleeping much lately
Gender: Finding out next Friday;D #soexcited
Belly Button Metamorphasis: It's already morphing back into the prego belly button
I’m Craving: Smoothies, salads, cheese, & crackers
Working Out Regimen: When I first found out I was pregnant, I was working out like crazy. But the past month, nothing. I worked out last Friday morning before work...it was torture. I've got to push myself to start back, because I know I will feel much better!
Mood (s): Anxious & worried (Pray for me to trust God in everything & leave that mess behind)

Weekend Tales On Hump Day
I've kind of disappeared from Peaches & Pearls lately. A lot is going on & it's hard for me to feel motivated in everything I have to do. The blogging has just been put on the back burner. Sometimes I feel like putting time into this blog is pointless, like no one reads & my efforts to write are in vain. But then, I think about how many special memories I have documented, & how it helps me to stay creative & inspired as a mom. Pray for me as I try to prioritize & balance my life as I should! I so desire to be the best mom & wife (& all the other things that I am daughter, granddaughter, etc) that I can be. But most of all, I want to be about the Fathers business in my life. I know we all have our own little worries & struggles, but it never hurts to ask for a little prayer here & there from our sisters:)
The fact that I feel a little rusty writing & am (wait for it) so incredibly tired, will keep this recap short & sweet. We kicked off our spring break in Eastern Tennessee in a beautiful cabin nestled in the mountains with family. It was such a sweet time to see old & new faces while taking in the beautiful scenery around us. As the typical rush here & there life style of young couples these days demands, we hurried home to pack for the next adventure. And just like that we were off to Florida! The past four days have been full of laziness, "water" (as Cam says}, & rain. How am I still dragging around like a sloth? Second Trimester...I have a lot of expectations for you! I hope you all have had a great Wednesday:)

P.S. Between that shot of the mountains & my current view of the ocean...how great is our God???

Easter 2015
I hope you all are still riding the jelly bean sugar high! I know my students are, but I'm sure not:) I made a million cupcakes & I am pretty sure I didn't eat a one! One for the preggo girl? Maybe...I did eat my share of jelly beans though:) I'm currently sitting here under a big pile of Golden Doodle as Cam is slowly fading away & the Mr. watches crazy You Tube videos...the perfect way to unwind on a Tuesday evening, right? Thankful to have this evening together!
Easter was lovely & so was the weekend. Cam was a lot more obsessed with the Easter bunny than I could have ever imagined. But even better? He is still talking about our Sunday school lesson & skit at church about the crucifixion & resurrection. He says, "Jesus hurt!" And points to his hands & feet. Then we say, "but he rose up, is alive & in heaven!" Aaaammmeeennn!:) Nothing in this world makes me happier than to hear that he is learning about Jesus.
On Good Friday we made a quick trip to "meet the Easter bunny" & do some last minute basket shopping. After finally convincing Cam that the Easter bunny was coming & not Ho Ho, I'm pretty sure he didn't say anything else other than "see easter bunny!" and absolutely. refused. to remove his bunny ears the entire rest of the day. We trudged our tired little hineys to the mall to scope out any bunny activity, & found that we had to wait 30 minutes for his next visit. Cam was as patient as his little bunny ears would allow him to be. He ran everywhere shouting, "Seeeeee easter bunny!" "See easter bunny!" When the bunny of the hour finally arrived, he strolled out behind a black curtain & Cam was the first kiddo in sight. He lifted up his big bunny paw & waved! You could have knocked Cam over with a feather. I'm pretty sure he will be a bunny fan for life:)
And as for the easter egg hunt? It was absolutely hilarious. The first hunt, we opened every egg & shoved the candy (wrapper & all) in our mouth. The second hunt he completely drop kicked the basket & his eggs flew all over the mulch. So over it! Oh, the memories made!

And now were counting down the days til' spring break!
3 to go to be exact.

Easter Plans
Man oh man! How fast Easter has snuck up on me this year. In the back of my mind, I kept thinking it & Cam's birthday were further apart & I'd have time to plan...but that is just not the case! After realizing this past Sunday was Palm Sunday, I decided it was past time to start getting Easter outfits & Cam's Easter basket goodies together. Of course, I pray I never let that take over my mentality of what the true meaning of Easter holds...the death, burial, & resurrection of Jesus! What a reason to celebrate & cherish our loved ones, church family, & life (even better, ETERNAL life!). God is so good to us!
Crossing my fingers for a beautiful Sunday so we can squeeze in some outdoor Easter fun after Church:) I sense lots of egg hunts, evening strolls, & jelly beans are in our future. What are your plans this Easter?

Of course, God made me a girly girl, so naturally I love putting together outfits for special occasions such as Easter. (Indulge me) a second as I share my favorites this year all found at J.Crew Factory Outlet (I love that place)... It was a hard choice between yellow (which is becoming my favorite color this season) & blue. In the end, as you can see blue won out, but I couldn't resist these yellow shorts (& lemon tee) for Cam during the warmer months! And if we didn't have to eat for the week, I would have ordered the Mr & I these cute outfits to match. I am hoping I can find something in our closet to throw together. Hmmmm I wonder if I will be adding a tiny bow tie or sweet easter dress to the list next year? :)
Today is my Friday...so here's to hoping you all have a wonderful long weekend!

Weekend Tales On Hump Day
because I'm pregnant & can't find the motivation to do anything other than survive & sleep! I had more energy this weekend than I have had in I don't know how long. I went on two long walks, juggling pushing Cam in the stroller, & finally took down Cam's birthday decorations Thursday evening (yes, I'm embarrassed). I had a little time Saturday to do laundry & a little Easter decorating. Have I ever mentioned how I hate laundry? We went to bed Friday night with surprise golf ball size snow flakes taking over the sky, making it a little harder to get in the warm weather spirit than the springy vibes we had earlier in the week. Nonetheless, after I had a little taste of warm evening walks, I am more than ready for the sunshine! I even brought all of my warm weather clothes out of hibernation, all to wear a skirt & flip flops Monday morning & find the car thermometer to read 34 degrees...Eeeesssshhh
I usually say, the best part of my weekend mornings are our Saturday morning breakfasts together. We try to all three (four now:) sit at the table without any tv & just take the time to simply enjoy each others company. This Saturday, we made my favorite...breakfast pizza. My nana makes it at least one morning every week for us & it makes my life when she tells me to expect it the next morning. It's so easy to make & gives you the best jump start for the day.
You need 2 cans crescent rolls, 1 roll of sausage, a package of frozen hash browns, 1 bag montery jack cheese, 5 eggs, & a 1/4 cup milk. Set the oven to 375 degrees & spray a round pizza pan with baking spray. Lay out your crescent rolls in a circular patterns & mash around the edges to create a barrier to keep the toppings in the center of the pizza. Fry your sausage & hash browns (we used olive oil). Place them on the pizza with as much cheese as you'd like (we like a lot), & then pour the beat egg & milk mixture on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes & enjoy:)
Hoping you all have a blessed short week ahead!
Yay for Good Friday!
