Weekend Tales

This moving stuff is as hard as I thought it would be...  I'm a bit overwhelmed at all there is to do.  As much as I feel like I have gotten accomplished these past few weeks of summer, I can't shake the feeling that we will be working non-stop to get it all crammed into our little Uhaul when the Mr. arrives.  (Maybe even finding things I should have had done before the loading process began!)  My emotions are all over the place & this girl is tired.  On top of the move, I had a yardsale Saturday, we are preparing for our online little shop to open on Friday, I have to pick Cade up from the airport in a few days, go to the doc again, & we have all kinds of family fourth festivities to attend.
But God is good & I have put my faith in Him with everything that is going on.  I have such a sweet peace that the world for sure can't give me (especially right now!)  I am starting to learn when I can do something & when I need to rest (which is a hard thing for me).  I want to do everything as I used to before we had any babies running around, but my last Dr.'s visit kind of showed me that I can't.  Funny how life lessons show up, right?

My big boy at his 2 year checkup with his finger prick & shot boo boos...he very brave & proud of his Scooby band-aids;)
It's become somewhat of a tradition this second time around to take a bump picture before the doctors visit, so here ya go!  My baby bump at 20 weeks 5 days!  This little guy is becoming more active by the day & I love it.  There is nothing like pregnancy...I am really trying to enjoy it & savor each day.  God is showing me how amazing he is each time I feel our precious baby kick:)  Hope you all have a blessed week & are planning a lot of fun for the Fourth!  (Can't wait for Cam to see the fireworks, myself!)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

20 Weeks

I actually turned 21 weeks yesterday, so I am a little behind...but here goes!  I hope you all are having a great weekend:)  Excited about the fourth festivities coming up!  Are you guys?
This is Week #:  20 Weeks (halfway there!)
Total Weight Gain:  10 lbs
What I am wearing:  It's getting tough at this point.  I broke down & bought a maternity bathing suit top this weekend after being miserable in my other belly covering suits the beginning of summer.  I never had to worry with bathing suits with Cam, as I was never pregnant with the hot weather!  It's a game changer!  If you want a cheaper option...I recommend going to Target!
Favorite accessory/piece of clothing:  See that romper I have on?  I think I could live in that.  Only thing is it looks ridiculous on me right now!  Like a footsie pajama suit.  The TODAY show totally lied about pregnant women being able to do rompers.  But...I may just not care right now.  It is toooooo comfy!  Maxis & tee shirt dresses are also great!
Body woes:  A few cramps, my belly's starting to itch pretty bad, & I'm starting to feel bad when I stay on my feet for a long time.
Best part of week:  Getting to see my friend Thursday before we head out on our new adventure in 9 more days.  I also sold a lot of things that helped downsize our travel load...that makes me feel a little less stressed!
Feel anything in there?  Yes, we have another rolly polly little boy in there:)
Gives me the Creeps:  Nothing.  I stay pretty hungry!
Zzzzz Pattern:  Sleeping okay.  I went to sleep last night at about 8pm.  This busy week has caught up with me!
Gender:  BOY
Belly Button Metamorphasis:  It's no longer a belly button at this point.
I’m Craving:  Still drinks!  Always thirsty...still having my half and half teas.  I also think I could live on strawberries & cream.
Working Out Regimen:  I have been walking a lot, trying to do some push ups & squats on my own.  Did try the pregnancy project month 4.  I liked it...it's all about isometrics & stretching.  Hoping to start up some fit sugar videos too this month!
Mood (s):  Happy.  I seen something about horses on tv the other day & wanted to bawl like a baby, so I guess you can say I'm a little unstable with emotions right now with all the changes going on, but overall I feel so blessed.  How can I not?
I can’t wait for:  Feeling organized again.  Our house is driving me crazy with the moving mode.  I also can't wait til our boutique launches July 3rd & to see my mr. again on July 2.

From One North To Another

Getting a little personal in today's post.  If you haven't already figured it out or heard the news, its true.  As of the first of July, our little family is heading to another North for a while.  North as in North Dakota.  This was a very hard & difficult decision to make.  Maybe the most difficult one in our marriage.  Many prayers were sent up & a lot of sleepless nights had.  But in the end, we ultimately felt like it was the best decision for our family.
We've never really been an adventurous kind of couple with decision-making, so I am kind of trying to look at this with a positive spin & see it as a little adventure.  I truly believe, that as long as we have each other & keep God as the center of our lives, I know we can make it through anything.  I've come to believe (& know from other experiences) that venturing out of a comfort zone & walking toward uncertainty is not a bad thing.  It allows people & relationships to grow.
We don't want to live this far away from family for forever, but for now, I think it might be a good lesson.  I've always heard it's important to allow a time in life to just have each other for a little while to figure out how to depend on one another.  Cade & I have never had that.  He has almost always worked away from home & we have lived separately the majority of our marriage.  With a family, that just isn't practical or healthy for us anymore.
I am trusting the Lord each step of the way & looking forward to each day he gives me.  I may have shared this quote here before, but I'll share it again as it has been on my heart during this packing up/moving mentality:
"Everyday is a gift from God, that's why it's called the present."
That being said, I will not make this a negative experience.  If each day is a gift from God, I want to treat it as that.  I keep thinking that there is a great purpose in this as we never know who we will meet or whose lives we can touch (or that can touch ours) if we just trust the Lord with each thing that happens in life.  Especially when we don't fully understand it.  I'm excited at what God has in store.  Remember us & our family in your prayers as we encounter this change!

xoxo
P.S. This "selfie avoider" can't help but love them now with this little Ham on board!  That smile though!

Our Super Weekend

Annnnddd this smile is brought to you by Skittles.  I totally robbed a few from our potty training supply to get this big of a cheese out of him for his daddy.  But, let's not talk about potty training right now...

We had a sweet weekend with all our favorite guys (except for daddy himself.)  It's not long til he'll be hopping on the big bird & flying in...10 more days!  Needless to say, we are very excited to see him!  In fact, we decided the occasion called for another daddy countdown on the chalkboard...
I don't know if I mentioned how obsessed Cam has been with "superheros" lately, but he. is. obsessed.  If you looked up boy in the dictionary, I'm pretty sure Cam's picture would be there.  He is such a boy!  Cars, trucks, motorcycles, superheros, dirt, dinosaurs...you name it.  I love it:)  So much so that I find myself becoming more and more impatient for our other little man to get here & take up his role as Cam's superhero sidekick.  Oh, the stories I will have to tell!

Anyways, I said all that to say, naturally, you can see what theme we went with for Father's Day.  We were all about superheros!  Cam actually picked out our Spiderman/Avenger/Superman cards out himself.  Walmart was where it was at this year!  We made a superhero out of his hand and foot print (compliments of beloved Pinterest) & baked up some Reece Piece cookies (that may or may not have been the ugliest cookies I've ever made).  Oh well, you win some you lose some!  I hope they tasted good;)

Fathers Day Favorites

Our Fathers Day is going to be a little late this year as the Mr. won't be with us until the first of July (TWO WEEKS!).  But that doesn't mean we can't give him a little shout out love before:)  When Cade left last summer, Cam was too young to understand.  But these days...he talks about him alllllll the time.  In fact, I can tell a big difference in his moods, his appetite, let's just be real...his overall behavior!  He is a lot more clingy to me & often doesn't want to leave home much.  He picks up the baby monitors or phones & has a conversation with "daddy" that always has something to do with "work."  Needless to say, this kid thinks his daddy wears a superhero cape.  And I can't say I disagree!  We love him so much & are counting down the days til' we see him again!  In anticipation for his arrival, here are a few of our favorite Fathers Day gifts...

I am partial to the Mr. Incredible shirt & the little "Daddies do it different" book.  I'm a little last minute as usual, but I plan on letting Cam pick the cards & we are working on making a sweet little painting for daddy when he comes home.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend with all the sweet daddy's in your life.

Weekend Tales

Happy Monday, everyone!  What are you doing on this beautiful day in June?  Me?  I'm trying to organize & clean our house, but Cam insists that I sit & watch the Wizard of Oz for the, ohmaybe 10th time this week (& yes, it's only Monday).  So here I am, recipe planning with Pinterest & catching up with the blog world while he is happy as a duck in socks (as my Mr loves to say).  Man, I miss him!  I figure it's been a while since I've done a weekend post, so why not kick off the week with a new one?:)
It's hard to believe that another Bible School has come & gone.  Cam has impressed me with what he learned this year!  Sometimes you think little bitty's just aren't old enough to retain things, but Cam can remember who created the world, who lived in the Garden of Eden (Abam & Eb), what they did, who died on the cross & rose again, & where Jesus lives today (heben).  That makes my heart burst with love & smiles!  And need I say...makes alllllll the hard work & preparation last week worth it!
I went & finally had some "me time" & TLC for the hair.  I'm glad to tell the scarecrow hair & non stop ponytail days goodbye!   But that didn't exactly stop Cam from getting Iron Man tangled in my hair before church Sunday morning.  Needless to say, my hair had another visit with the scissors all too soon!  While we were in the big city, we also wrapped up the beginnings of a new little adventure that I'd like to talk more about tomorrow, but here's a little teaser to get you to thinking about what might be my next little endeavor in the near future:)
And since it is summer time, we definitely took some time to soak up some sun & family time.  Like I said before, Cam is in love with the water & playing outside in the sun...so I foresee a lot of outdoor water fun this week when we need a break from cleaning (and the Wizard of Oz).
Wishing you all a wonderful summery week!

Summer, At Last!

Here I am, posting at the end of the week again.  Boooooo.
Monday marked my last day of school.  Not for just this school year, but for at least the next entire year.  It's bittersweet & exciting all at the same time.  I'm excited to be with my family & about having the opportunity to spend some very special time with my boys.  Obviously, I will miss our other family & all of the wonderful new people I have met this year working in the schools.  I soaked in every hug from every kid and coworker & tried to be present for every moment I had this past week.  I also scored a teensy vanilla latte from my favorite little coffee shop next to the school.  Hey, when in Rome right?;)  It's always such a surreal experience for me when I know life's fixing to change.  However, that's another day & another post!
So where have I been the last, oh couple of months?  Well, I've been so very busy & consumed with life.  But I am hoping that I am going to have time to update regularly now!  Here's what's been happening lately...

Our first trip to the pool with Cam for the summer happened this past Friday.  We hit the pool after a quick "ninja turtle" lunch of pizza & then it happened.  Cam morphed into something like a water dog.  He was jumping off the side of the pool (barely missing the edge I might add) & even built enough confidence to move on up to the big diving board.  Then he got an idea.  The boy got a wonderful, awful idea..."Mommy jump!  Just jump, mommy!"  Sounds like a teenager, right??  JUST Jump??

So naturally, Yep.  I did.  Baby bump & all.  Off the diving board I went.  Not just one time...but several times!  What kind of effect will two of these little boys have on me?  I don't even want to know:)

We've had an interesting week to say the least.  Not only was it the last week of school, but Cam had another traumatic accident.  He currently has a very swollen lip that I guess you could say it is slowly taking over his face.  Okay, maybe just his nose.  Anyway, the majority of the time...when you ask Cam what happened, he will say: Snake!  (chunky hands strike a fang position & he makes a growling noise).
Translation:  Nana was trying to kick start potty training & he decided it would be funny to run away from her.  The only problem was, he still had his pants wrapped around his leg.  He made it out of the bathroom to the dining room & dove into the chair or "cheer" as his little redneck self calls it.  He woke up Friday morning & felt the swollen lip & said, "Mommy, my teeth!"😂

The snake may have had a little something to do with my tactic for getting him to brush his teeth...oops!  Maybe I should find another approach besides cleaning the bugs & snakes out of his teeth?  Ahhh, the world of baby boys!  Never a dull moment.

Now to tackle this last night of Bible school before summer vacation really begins!;)
Happy Friday Eve, everyone!

It's A ...

BOY!  We are so excited to announce that we are expecting another boy!  I'll admit.  I was certain that Baby A #2 was a girl.  I am carrying this baby different.  I had much more sickness & nausea.  I had that same feeling of "just knowing" that I had with Cam, but I was soooo wrong this time...weird, right?  I'll definitely take another Cam any day:)  I mean...matching bow ties & matchbox cars everywhere?  Come on!  What could be cuter??
The appointment was a little bit crazy but I made it through without the Mr. there.  We have been to almost every baby appointment ever together, and it was very sad to be there without him.  Especially when it is one as special as the gender check.  Thankfully I was able to FaceTime him during the big reveal.  Gotta love technology when your husband is half the country away!   I'm pretty sure he about fell over in shock with the news.
"Alright here we go.  What is it mom??"
Oh wow.  That's definitely a boy!
Cam had a grin as big as a possum (though I know he had no clue what was going on!)
Silence & snickers.  Wow!
Morning of appointment...this picture makes me laugh:)

That night, I just could not sleep.  My mind could NOT comprehend that I am well on my way to being the mommy of two little boys.  What a huge responsibility.  What a blessing.  I love when God steps in & surprises us when we think we know everything.  I somehow kept my little (okay, big) secret the whole night so that I could wake up to grab our Krispy Cream blue filled donuts to share the news with the rest of the world.  The only thing I could do was think of names & plan a shared boy room (in true Cassidy fashion!) until oh about 3 am in the morning.  And I may or may not have woke up again at 4 am to plan some more...  Haha:)  At least my insomnia is productive.
Boy oh BOY!
