Weekend Rundown

I'm so gullible...
Several massive headaches, 2 crazy days running around like a chicken with my head cut off and sleepless nights later...
and I can tell I made a bad decision to cover for
an additional nursing home over the next two weeks.
 Too late now!

Since these next two weeks are going to be very busy,
expect a decrease in posts...but don't think I've abandoned Peaches and Pearls!

In the mean time, I'll be brainstorming and planning future posts!
With a special focus for some Fall Fun:)
Stay Tuned!

Cam, August 17, 2012
What a difference a year makes;)...
Loungin' in my belly, now he's loungin' in my bed!

As for this past weekend...
ahh did I just say the word weekend??
We had a pretty laid back couple of days!

Poor Penn

Friday, Cam, The Mr., & I watched a very, VERY, scary movie.
The Call.
Why we watch things like this I don't know...
but they do keep my attention unlike any other type of movie...and inform me of ways to escape should I ever be shoved in a trunk against my will :(

We also had a great time catching up with our friends Lindsey, Lance, and Loxley...

Cam got to fly around the kitchen a few times too...
a new hobby of his!

Saturday, we went to Knoxville to grab a few gifts and visit "Uncle Brody."
I ask that you keep him in your prayers as he is fighting
against some tough things going on in his life.
Nothing is too hard for my God.  With Him...ALL things are possible.

Much to my excitement...Halloween decor was displayed
front and center at Buy Buy Baby!! I'll take one of everything, please and thank you!

Sunday, it appeared as though Cam's teething experience hit with a great vengeance.
He has cried every 5 minutes since I do believe...

Penn and Cam snuggled up for a few calm minutes Sunday evening.

And we finally completed Cam's room...yea...I know he is five months old Thursday...
ABOUT TIME!
Before

After

Hope you all have a great week!

"Faith, Family, & Ducks"

Jambalaya.  Sweet Tea in a Mason Jar.
Banana Pudding Cupcakes garnished with
a few beards and wise words from Phil & Si...
What do you get when you throw all this together?

The perfect fun family night with a Miss Kay spin on cookin'.
And a great way to kick off the new season of Duck Dynasty:)

I was a little late catching on to this show,
but once Cade and I actually allowed ourselves to watch it:
We were hooked!

I can quote Silas Robertson lines all day long!
But...I am pretty terrible at impersonations.

It's the perfect family show.
Especially if your from the South...

Nothing better than family, good grub, and a good TV show to enjoy together.

And do you even have to ask?
Yes.  Even Penny had to join in on the Dynasty celebration...
She snuck up on the TABLE and took a big lick out of her own Banana Pudding Cupcake!
JERK!

And she swiped my favorite cupcake too!

Guess this just mean's our WHOLE family is "Happy, Happy, Happy."

Perspective Check

The weekend is not exactly what I want to focus on today.
It was a difficult one to say the least...
so on to this beautiful week ahead and the little things that make it so lovely.
I don't know about you but I need some inspiration!

A couple weeks after Cam was born, a friend stood in awe while reminding me of the extraordinary, AMAZING process God performed in order for us to see each precious little part of my sweet baby.
"Just think, the Lord knitted this baby in your womb!"

"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart"
Jeremiah 1:5

What an awesome God we have, and how I fail Him each and every day.

Recently, God sent me another special message in our church service last week.
A sweet lady with breast cancer stood after kneeling at the alter in tears.
She was broken in that she felt she had given herself an excuse to not be as active in her prayer life, specifically with a focus of praying for others.
If SHE can be broken and find no excuse to be in consistent prayer for others,
what excuse do I have?

A new mom trying to juggle a job, a marriage, puppies, and a baby?
No.  Those are not excuses.  Those are blessings!
Even more reasons to be singing his praises...

I love when He takes the time to speak to me & remind me of the important things in life...I tend to need perspective checks every now and then!

"Roll back the curtain, of memory now and then...
show me where you brought me from and where I might have been.
Remember, I'm human.  And humans forget.
So remind me.
Remind me dear Lord..."

If You Give A Penny A Birthday Donut...

If you give a Penny A Birthday Donut...
she may ask you to sing her "Happy Birthday,"
Light some trick candles (4 in her case),
Ask YOU to blow them out,
and then break her donut into bite size pieces.

| Book | Dog Dish, similar | Collar, Home Goods |

Diva Dog.

But we love our crazy dog just the same.
So much so that yes we really did buy her a donut.
Light it with 4 candles in honor of her four years of life.
Place it in her food bowl.
Broken into schnauzer bite pieces.

Annnnnnddddd-we even read a special book in her honor...

Thank you for being the loudest,
craziest,
barky-est,
punch-baggy-est (for Cade)
snuggle buggie-est,
under the covers residing,
travelesque kind of pooch.
Happy Birthday Penn
We love you...

Cade, Cass, & Cam:)

Three & Four Month Favorites

Bumbo Seat:  We are currently using this thing ALL the time.  Cam is going through a spell where he get bored with all positions easily.  Cambini sits in his while I do chores, cook supper, feed him his new beloved puree squash!  And he even sits in it in his little pool...
Heaven is For Real for Little Ones:  I LOVE the adult version of this book, and I was ELATED to find it for my Cam during my "Lloyd Christmas shopping spree."  I read it to him every chance I get...I truly believe kids are never too young to begin planting seeds and I am ALL about reading to your baby any chance you get!
Swimways Baby Spring Float Canopy: This purchase is actually on its way...can't really review it yet but I will be sure to post feedback once we try it out.  I wanted to post it as a favorite because it has been SO hard to find a float for infants that cover them well from the sun.  This is the best thing I have found so far!
Baby Bullet Set:  This is another purchase on the way, however in the short time I have been feeding Cam baby food, I have been frustrated at the options offered.  Even the "natural" labeled baby foods have ingredients that include processed/chemically altered contents that I am trying to eliminate from my own diet, so needless to say I am not going to start my baby off on anything less than the best I can provide.  Again, more feedback to come here...but I am excited at being able to know EXACTLY what goes into my baby's food.
Pamper Sensitive:  I have finally chosen my favorite diaper from the last 4 months of switching between all those given as shower gifts.  These seem to work best for us and seem to fit Cam the best while providing the most comfort.  But hey!  To each their own!
Medela Bottles: These are hands down the BEST bottles I have found for breast fed babies.  If you pump (specifically with the Medela pump...) these are so convenient and portable between pumping and sending along with the baby.  I am loving Medela products!

Weekend Rundown

Why do weekends have to pass by so quickly?
I SWEAR it feels as if I JUST got off work Friday evening!
Man.

Enough with the depressing talk!
I'd much rather talk about the fun we had instead...

Friday was the day.
The day Cam finally authentically loved the pool!
Way to go baby, it's only "fall fever time" now!
LOL
Oh well...guess we will be squeezing all we can out of those last rays of sun!
And I decided to snag this to do it with!

Friday evening, after starting the weekend off with a splash...
Cam, the Mr., Penny, and I loaded up for a quick Maryville, TN run.
A yummy dinner at Olive Garden, trip to Dick Sporting Goods, trip to my beloved Target, and a swing by Starbucks (I was seriously having withdrawals) made for the perfect quick family get-a-way.

Besides Penny playing her sport of barking at the shoppers passing by
and being referred to as "Lloyd Christmas:"
Cade: "Okay, just get the bare essentials.  This is the last of our dope."
Cassidy: HEY, who do I look like???
Fast forward to a shopping cart full of cake icing tools, a glass canister, two books for Cam, a wooden tray...you get the point...
the evening was sweet time spent together.
We laughed quite a bit over my randomness-
But HEY, that's what I LOVE about Target!
Geeeezzzz!

| Studded Top | Infantino Breathe Carrier |
He helps me push the cart;)

| Cafe Vanilla Frappuccino Lite |

Saturday, Cam tried out the lake...
yea NOT a fan of the lake yet!

Sunday, I managed to lose my iPhone all day in a diaper.
In my diaper bag.
Mommy brain strikes again.

Speaking of mommy brain...getting sidetracked again
Cam got his first Pineapple Willy's tee from the beach bums:)
Modeled more ties to satisfy my baby tie obsession...
And seen a beautiful sunset from our little nook in the mountains!

Yea...so I love the weekends!  How bout you?
